How to Pick Out Amazing Keywords
- Brainstorm a list of 5-10 keywords and phrases related to your business. Try to enter the conversation in your customers head. Type these words into excel or some type of table. See example below.
- Use the following search tools to come up with additional keywords or phrases. Add these to your excel table. Make sure to include search volume.
*Hint Google measures traffic by the month. Word tracker by the day, so the search volume numbers will differ.

- Pick out your top 2-3 keywords to use for your "targed keywords"

Rank you keywords based the following criteria:
- high search volume: higher is better
- high cost per click: more expensive usually is better
- number of advertisers: lower is better
High search volume terms may not always be the best option. Some keywords bring buyers and others bring “tire kickers”. The average cost per click is a good indicator of which keywords bring buyers. Use your best judgement as to which keywords you think will bring you the best qualified prospects. You can always change your keywords at a later date.
- Use the remaining keywords to populate your keywords:

- When you write your ad try to use your keywords in your "tag line" and headline if possible. This has two effects. It convinces the search engines that your ad is more relevant. It also makes the person searching more likely to click on your ad if they see the exact phrase in your ad that they searched for.
