OK, so you're in Local Ad Link...You signed up as an Account Executive or you bought a Brand Builder Package... What Now?

First of all there are two products you can choose to sell:

1. The Ads
2. The Business

These two very much overlap but when devising your sales approach it's good to keep them both in mind and know when to separate them and when to discuss them concurrently.

It really doesn't matter much what you decide because you can easily go around selling the ads and then casually mention at the end of your sale that there is a business opportunity here as well. I recommend that you always mention the Brand Builder option straight away because invariably you'll come across the angry customer that finds out later that he/she could have gotten a better deal by signing up as a Brand Builder.

It really is a better value to the customer especially because it puts them immediately into the commission matrix. The only catch is the way the ads come packaged (4 months of the Basic 3 zip codes, 4 months of the Standard 10 zip codes, and 2 months of the Premium 50 zip codes) it makes the ads a bit more difficult to manage.

It's up to you. Either way lets talk about the type of prospect suited for these products.

Ad Prospects include:

  • -Just about anyone with a business card. Anyone with a business card can benefit from this service. If they have a business card, they're selling something. We can help them sell more of it.
  • -Customers that are better suited include those with a customer base that is localized to certain geographical location. Don't write anyone off though!! It's always worth it for a company with a national audience to try a test campaign. They can choose to try any 50 zip codes they like and see what happens. If the Return on their investment is what they're looking for, you could have a HUGE sale ligned up. Here is a list by Forbes magazine of the 150 most expensive zip codes in the United States if they're selling high end products: http://www.forbes.com/2005/04/22/cx_sc_0426homep.html

Brand Builder Prospects Include:

  • -Successful, Intelligent people. This product is a bit complex and it seems like the more educated and business savvy a prospect is, the more likely they are to get it.
  • -Anyone in the Advertising or Marketing field already. These people see the writing on the wall. If they are lucky enough to still be employed, they are most likely seeing the Internet migration first hand. The web will pass Radio by the end of this year and by the end of 2010 the Internet will eclipse Radio, Print, and Television. "Internet ad spending will surpass newspaper advertising to become the nation's leading ad medium in 2011" according to private equity firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson.
  • -Any well respected Web Industry Professional. Web masters, successful web entrepreneurs, sales people, project coordinators... Anyone with some degree of success and influence online are the ideal candidates. Once they understand the product and believe in it they're influence can immediately produce hundreds of sales.
  • -Successful Network Marketing Professionals. This company is sweeping through the network marketing industry because it's the first product in forever that can stand on it's own and is NOT Lotions, Potions, Vitamins, Juice, Algae, Soap, Electronic Cigarettes, Water Purifiers, or any other over priced product that you have to buy a garage full of. Finally a Viable, Virtual product that can stand on it's own in the marketplace. It's a network marketers dream come true but like the rest of them, better you spend the majority of your time working on people that are already successful and motivated. It's too training to try and beat dead horses into action!!
